Itty Bitty Titty Committee

  • $10.00
  • Director: Jamie Babbit
  • 2006, USA, 88 minutes

They’re back again, the amazing producer/director combination of Andrea Sperling and Jamie Babbit (But I’m a Cheerleader). Joined this time by the powerhouse of lesbian filmmaking, POWER UP, Itty Bitty Titty Committee is tearing up the festival circuit as the best revolutionary girl film in years.

Revolution is the key word here, as this film centers on the feminist movement of the new CIA (Clits in Action). These powerful dykes and their cohorts find a new recruit in gorgeous Anna, who finds the energy and potential from this group too hard to resist.  The potential includes Anna’s new flirtatious femme anarchist Sadie, and together they cram Anna into a Feminism 101 crash course.

An indie-rock soundtrack mixes stylish satire and do-it-yourself activism in this daring and entertaining journey through the subculture of feminist politics.

Politics alone don’t carry this film, however.  Sexual tension between exes and new lovers abound, and Anna’s current job as a receptionist at a plastic surgery clinic make for comic moments and serious conflicts between the foundering C(i)A members. Anna also has to deal with Sadie’s current girlfriend and sugar-mama, but still takes on the thrust of the largest covert operation yet, resulting in some hilarious revolutionary extremes.

With strong feature and supporting performances, POWER UP’s debut feature shows just how the feminist revolution can co-exist with optimism, fun, and romance.

Scheduled to Appear: POWER UP producers, cast members.
