Tower Theatre :: 12pm :: Sunday, September 23rd
Jason and DeMarco have become renowned world-wide for three distinct things:
They’re also about to become known in Fresno because they’ll be performing right here on the Tower Stage with our own Gay Men’s Chorus on October.
This fantastic documentary takes us into the relationship, singing career, and tough breaks experienced in every aspect of the lives of these two brave young men. Saddled with the title of ‘Sex Symbol,’ they instead strive to accept their position as role models for gay youth. The emails they receive along with the reports of the high rates of gay suicide, especially by young gay Christians, drives them to speak to gay youth with their music, lyrics, and their own openly gay lives.
While they may seem superhuman, Jason and DeMarco share the same relationship issues we all have, and experience diva-like moments only true singing queens can appreciate. Through it all they spread their message of love and acceptance, even in the face of the uphill battles brought upon them by the very Christian faith they have sworn to serve.
Among those interviewed are parents, actor Chad Allen and Soulforce founder Rev. Mel White, with cameos from K.D. Lang and Carson Kressley.
