“Nina’s Heavenly Delights” is delightful, indeed. This wonderfully warm tale of cooking and caring is set in Glasgow, Scotland, where Nina takes up the curry challenge of her life to save the family restaurant after her father passes away. She must defend her family’s culinary honor while dealing with her resentful brother, grieving mother, and a little sister more interested in dancing than cooking, so she enlists the help of her old schoolmate Lisa.
Times are tricky for Nina, as she’s still in the closet, her family has other interests, and there’s an Indian wedding in the works. Her best friend Mohan is helps as much as he can while preparing for a Bollywood dance competition with its own gay twist.
Will Nina tell her family that Lisa’s been helping with more than just the cooking, or will her reluctance spoil the curry and her heart?
With musical numbers, two gorgeous leading ladies, and lots of sweet humor, this film is sure to please anyone who likes their romance with a side of family reconciliation.
